How do you define "home" when you suddenly find yourself between two countries? This photo project is about Дарія (Dariia), a young Ukrainian woman who decided to flee war to Berlin in March 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It deals with the sudden change of life and the uncertainty that the future now holds. Starting over in a foreign city without speaking the language, finding a new job and place to stay, learning German in just a short amount of time and trying to adapt to an unfamiliar environment. Everyday university life shifted to the virtual space, feared to be unplugged at any time. In the background, the constant murmur of the daily news and always having the unknown in the back of the mind: What happens next and further on?
